While the technology that drives our web cam installations is quite complicated, the basics of how it works is remarkably simple, and the best part is that Calvert Design Group handles everything for you.
We’ll install one of our self-contained, high quality video camera systems at your location(s) to capture all the live action. The cameras stream the video feed to the Internet in real time or as uploaded images, whichever you prefer (or even both to account for all different scenarios of usage). Our web cam solutions require no additional computer for operation - they stand alone and do not need to be hooked up to a computer.
Bandwidth/Network Requirements
Our video systems are optimized to work the best over low cost broadband solutions such as DSL or Cable. While other options like phone modems, wireless ISP's and T1 lines are possible, we recommend DSL or Cable for its balance of cost vs. performance. Our system can utilize any high-speed Internet connection. In addition, you will need a functioning computer network with a router in place that can provide port mapping services. Wireless Web Cams
Wireless, portable web cam solutions are also available and in many instances less expensive, even taking into consideration the cost of the wireless equipment required to implement the complete solution.
Once the camera is installed and connected by us to the Internet, it is ready for use. If you are using it as part of your website, we encode the necessary references to the video feeds into your web site (or provide them to your webmaster) and from there your visitors can see all the live action.
